Beam me up, hottie

Jacket: Armani Exchange, Jeans: BDG, Shoes: Kenneth Cole

Having girls as some of your closest friends has pretty much emotionally scarred me for life. That’s right, I know exactly what you girls are gossiping about when you meet a guy. The other thing that having girls as good friends has done is that it has made me much more cognizant of what other girls wear. Given the amount of prepping and preening the opposite sex does to look presentable to the public is always a curious affair of how much thought they put into it coinciding with what they think looks good to the public.

The old saying is that when girls go out, they pretty much dress up for other girls. But don’t worry, when you go out, you dress up for me. Because there I am, watching, silently judging you, thinking “Nah uh girlfreeeen, oh no you di’n’t”. Well maybe not.

I should start making these posts relevant to the outfit I’m wearing. I’ll do that starting riiiiiight…. Now.

So that jacket is like, at least 5 years old. It's super light (about as thick as a windbreaker, though it does not break wind), and I like how the seams aren't at the shoulder. Perhaps it is a bit dated by this day and age, but that's not the point of posting it today. The point is, given the cleanliness of the overall design, this is how people in the future should all dress like. Who designed those outfits on Star Trek? Nah uh, girlfreeeeennnnn...

  5. Well, I'm a girl (duh) and I pretty much like having boys as close friends. I don't quite know if the guys like to have ME as their friend though ;-) Nah I don't think I'm that bad.
“Nah uh girlfreeeen, oh no you di’n’t” LOL ;-) Tomorrow I'm starting to outfit-post again, so then you can tell ME that ;-) I'm also showing my new haircut...

  6. LOL I loved your post Dru, you cracked me up big-time! I love how you put girls dressing up for other girls... it's quite true, though we also sometimes dress for the guys we date!

I love your jacket! Hubby is quite a sucker for jackets and he has all sorts -- but I remember a beige one a bit similar to this that really strikes me so much. It's classy and manly!

  7. Tehee, great post!! I think girls dress for girls sometimes, for boys other times and for themselves very little. We do seem to have a bad habit of following trends that don't suit us because we want the girls to think we are oh so cool and fashionable and most of the time boys don't really care about that at all. I think i was a slave to the trends when I was younger but I've well and truly gotten past that now :)

  22. I really like the jacket because it's very classic looking, which is why you're still wearing it five years later. I didn't notice the Star Trek-iness until you mentioned it ;).
