wore this for my cousin's rehearsal dinner, the friday before last.. it was possibly one of the most chaotic rehearsal's ever.. but it ended up well.. and dinner was good.

last weekend was the hubby's company christmas party, and our first of the season.. so we decided to wear our 'money' outfits..(we actually have a holiday party every weekend til christmas) yay! and i even managed to snap a photo of him in his snazzy suit for you guys.. despite his adamant hatred of photos. anyways his party was held in downtown in the theatre district at one of the venues and we were treated to the musical White Christmas.. it was quite good though the lead was no Bing Crosby. the back of the dress has an exposed zipper detail as well.. and i wore a mini caplet to stay a bit warmer once it got cooler in the evening..i'll have to take a photo of that sometime. oh and fyi gilt has a laila azhar sale starting today too! i hope everyone had a great weekend and a great week so far! i still have much christmas shopping to do... *sigh*

oh and the bangs are getting long again.. to trim or not to trim is always the question.. by the end of the night they were not sitting well at all.. like all spacy between like icicles. not cute. and it is unfortunate that is when someone decided to take photos.

head dressing

because of the vintage feel and added 'oomph' it gives to an outfit, the fascinator has quickly become the hot new accessory. inspired by several ladies on the 'net (okay, and maybe a teensy bit by kenley's PR collection -- though i will say, for the record, i was not a big fan of her collection in general), i decided to give this look a try and wore one to a wedding i attended this past weekend. i picked up this feather fascinator from urban outfitters a couple of days before the wedding, although upon closer inspection, i realized that this was something i could perhaps attempt to make on my own, given more time (future project!).

now, i'm not a big fan of wearing black to weddings (i realize this is no longer taboo, but for some reason this is one 'rule' that sticks with me), but i wanted the fascinator to be the focal piece of the outfit and this dress was the only one i had in my closet that complemented my headpiece without detracting from it. i wish i had taken a picture of the entire outfit that night, but honestly, i was too busy either at the bar, catching up with old friends, on the dance floor, or gushing over the adorable newlyweds to think about it.

threw this together for a dinner out on friday. and since the newest go international line from target just came out, what better way to celebrate than to showcase a piece from their last in-house go international line. i absolutely adore the hight-waisted look. and this paperbag waisted skirt was an ideal purchase, with it's satin-y sheen and pockets! now i know the high-waisted look is not for everyone, but i feel like it definitely elongates the legs.
