Whoever said dressing up could only be done during Halloween, clearly hasn't seen me. Another genre of street fashion I like is what they call Gothic Ninja. It's similarly defined by a monochromatic color palette and a minimalistic aesthetic, but the minimal approach speaks loudly.

Also, these culottes are the best. Totally pulling off this ninja/samurai thing and it's pretty awesome. Now if I could only find plain white walls to photograph with and not have people stare would be great.

  1. I would love to know more about how these culottes wear and how the folded fabric lies where it ties closed.... I bought a hat from Shades of Silence recently and have been eyeballing those culottes for over a month...I had wanted something hakama-oid and find these to be preferable visually at the waist... Tell me more, Vinnie! Please!

    1. found that these culottes took some time to get use to. Depending on your size and which way you fold over, the balance of leg size will be a little off. The strings are each at the sides of the culottes and when you fold over you can tie anywhere between your front and mid side. I find that I have to adjust and re-tie at least once when I wear them out, but that's to be expected when you tie with strings (unless you don't want your waist to breathe). Though I do have to say, I get lots of compliments when I wear them out, and they certainly do fit that new age hakama fit!
