Last week I had the opportunity to try out a new medical spa that just opened up in town.  At first, I was a little hesitant since I've never had any serious facial treatments before, and had seen several horror stories on the internetz.  You know people who have permanent scars, or rashes, or worse skin after?  How does that happen?  Plus generally anything with chemicals or lasers just sounds scary, no?  I got over it and booked the appointment.

 Let me just say a beautiful space just adds to the experience.  I mean this space is no joke.  I could already tell it would be a relaxing time, and my fears slowly went away.  First up, a glass of prosecco, also to calm the nerves, followed up by a consultation where they explained all what they had to offer in detail and answered any questions I had, and asked about my normal skincare regime.  They decided to go with a microdermabraison and hydra facial for me.  Being my first time and all I think it was the perfect way to ease me into the process but still have a good deep clean.

If you've never had a microdermabrasion before, don't fear, it's not painful at all, and you get a nice shoulder, neck massage to relax you more.  Immediately afterwards I had some redness, but it faded by evening, and my skin was so incredibly smooth.  I even left with some sample care after goodies to make sure I had the right protection for after the treatment.   Overall an A+ experience, and now I'm not a facial newbie, and would definitely go back!
