highend to homemade.

tank: kohls, skirt: handmade, shoes: louboutin, pearls: tiffany's

threw this outfit together for dinner out for roz's birthday. my goal was to wear my louboutins.. which oddly i've only worn one other time (my birthday).. as well as the pearls. i find instead of getting good use out of my higher end items.. i store them and only dust them off on "special occasions" too scared to get that they'll get ruined somehow. i should really get over it.
i'll have to take a better photo of the skirt.. it's made out of a striped tapestry/brocade type material.. i love making these skirts out of thicker fabric so that it holds it shape better.

  2. I love those brocade skirts that your make! They look perfect on you and Roz. And those shoes! How is it that Mr. Louboutin gets it absolutely, positively right every single time?

  3. I love that look.

I used to do the same thing with my really nice stuff: save things for later.

But then, I realized, you've got to life. You've got to use and enjoy the things you have. Otherwise, why buy them? Even if you ruin something, there'll be another version of it along any minute.

  17. Wow, I love the shape of the skirt, and also the skirt you made for Roz. Of course, if you own high end items, wear them... They look good! How high are those Louboutins?

...I know, it's always like that with exams. You always put off studying...

  30. Oh! I really like this outfit! Its so effortlessly chic and hip. If i could affor such high-end merchandise i'd be inclined to do exactly what you are also lol. I mean, if you're spending so much on a pair of shoes you most definately do not want them scuffed as soon as you've gotten them :)

Hope you had a fabulous time at Rozs' birthday. And yes, please DO put a closer pic of that skirt up! It sounds so so interesting, striped tapestry/brocade material? Interesting

  32. see i seem to have the same problem. i mean i dont want to over use my special articles of clothing because it just becomes mundane, or im afraid of wrecking them... I too need to get over it and get the best out of them... beautiful outfit, but I wouldn't expect any less.
