cardigan & tank, AA. skirt, F21. boots, dolce vita.
i wore this to a little get-together at my parents' house last saturday to celebrate my dad's birthday. as the weather is finally beginning to cool down here in houston, i'm trying to get some last use out of my summer items, like this forever 21 skirt, before they get packed away for the winter. i love transitional dressing because anything goes, fashion-wise, during that period of time between seasons (like tights w/ sandals! -- yes, expect to see a post on that later). and as i've mentioned before, i'm a big fan of the pairing of grey with brown, so this outfit is very much a "roz" look.
also, i got a lot of comments on these dolce vita boots in this post. i bought the boots from shopbop during their end-of-season sale at the beginning of this year. although i saved about a hundred bucks off the full retail price, for me $144 is still a pretty hefty price to pay for a pair of boots (personally, i would much rather splurge on a one-of-a-kind jacket or a fabulous dress)...but i am quick to justify this purchase by arguing that a brown riding boot is classic and will never go out of style. more importantly, i LOVE them and really there's no better argument than that, right?

Love it! The boots look so great with the outfit!

I agree the "loving" factor is the most important in an item. I still wear my so-a-few-seasons-ago bags because I just love 'em.
ReplyDeleteI like how you wear the extra long cardi and have a suggestion-
wear it with a mini that's shorter than it
it'd be such a fun play on length
and, of couse, some hot boots you'll have no problem conjuring up
You look amazing ! Love this outfit
ReplyDeleteno argument there- you look amazing!
ReplyDeleteThat's my favorite cardigan :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for Dolce Vita!
i love, love, love this outfit!!!
ReplyDeleteloving everything about your blog
ReplyDeleteand tights with sandals, too!
love the long cardigan.
ReplyDeleteAww, I'm actually wearing a very similar outfit today - even our cardigans are the same color, haha. Except yours looks cuter and I want to buy one now.
ReplyDeleteI love the whole outfit. <3 If I lived in a cooler place during the winters I think I'd still try to wear skirts. LOL. I own like 2 pairs of pants that I actually use. I'm not a pants person at all. =/
ReplyDeleteAnd that cardigan is fabulous. And I agree with you -- if you love something who cares if you splurged or not. As long as you get a lot of use from it. <3
You look so gorgeous and I absolutely love that F21 skirt! I also love pairing gray and browns- it soft and classic, but without being stuffy.
ReplyDeleteHope you girls have a great weekend!
Love the Cardi! I just wore one today as well because it finally got a slightly cold here in Texas..and by that i mean 78 degrees. haha.
ReplyDeleteEven if you only wore those boots 90 times in one year (during one season), it would amount to about a buck and a half per wear, and who couldn't justify that? And that's only for one year's wear. You'll have those boots for several years, I'm sure, and the cost-per-wear would amount to pennies.
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is adorable. I love the color combo of grey and brown.
flat riding boots are the best shoe. ever! you look great.
ReplyDeletewow i love the cardigan! and pairing brown with grey is always nice and unexpected.
ReplyDeletethis is a great look.
ReplyDeleteI luv the colour combination...so fab! You have alovely weekend dear & hope to hear from you again!
ReplyDelete~Charmed as always*
Oh my gosh you are most definately right. As long as you love them to death who cares that the price could almost put you to death ;)
ReplyDeleteYou look so lovely. I've always admired how you put your outfits together because they never fail to be wonderful *sigh*
Yep, I have to agree with you on the boots. Can't go wrong and they are very very practical.
ReplyDeleteI say roz look is comfortable and effortless chic. Would you agree? :)
Those boots were well worth it.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday to your dad :) Love the skirt and those boots really are super!
ReplyDeletewe always find good excuses to justify being shopaholics, right? but the boots are really a good investment. so no guilt feelings, ok? nice outfit and happy birthday to your daddy!
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit!!!
ReplyDeleteThat cardigan, that skirt and those boots are just soo gorgeous!!!!!
