city chic

skirt/ombre tights: target, sweater: ralph lauren, cardigan: club monaco, shoes: jessica simpson, necklace: whiteflash.com

so i geared this whole outfit around the ombre tights, which i picked up from target for under $2 bucks... score! i was a little unsure on how to wear them, but figured to go all black to show off the tights.. with a bandage mini (also from target), and an old cashmere sweater that i've had for about 5 years, the cardi is new... purchased with a gc i got for my bday, and the shoes were given to me from a friend whose feet are even smaller than mine... her loss, my lucky gain. being a lil recessionista? definitely. which leads me to this new book i got in the mail the other day, nina waldorf's 2nd edition of City Chic...

city chic - the modern girl's guide to living large on less
seriously the motto i live by... i'm quite the bargain hunter.. and very price conscious.. i don't mind digging or mess as long as i can find a good deal. and i don't mind hand me downs.. shopping in mom's closet? yes! the guide varies from thrifty tips for furnishing your apt (like going 'dumpster diving' for goods) to cooking, to saving monies on the upkeep of your hair as well as fashion tips.. i kind of wish i had this book back when i was in college or even immediately after.. i could have definitely used it! but there are definitely some good tips that i can still use today! i mean, especially with the economy... living large on less.. should be everyone's motto!
so check it out!

i hope everyone's having a great week! mine's been a bit hectic...

  2. so adorable ...I only wish the ombre tights were dark at the top and light at the bottom in all the colors they make ...I mean we all don't have super skinny legs and to highlight the biggest part, for me, wouldn't be hot ...lol.

They look fantastic on you though!

  4. ZOOOM! I freaking LOVE LOVE LOVE your tights darling!

I didn't even know they were ombre at first (just thought it was the lighting) but I was gonna comment on them anyway. Fab! Wish we had Target in Canada (though they did buy out our "Zellers" store so maybe we will soon? Fingers crossed!)

  7. I've been dying for those ombre tights ever since they showed up on blogosphere. Target's changed their shipping prices to Hawaii, boo. BUT our first two Target stores open tomorrow! Target just so happens to be my second job; I don't work in apparel, so I'll have to mosey on over tonight to see if we're carrying them.

  26. Oh my gosh.

I ADORE this outfit to no end!! Those ombre tights are a must have now!! =]

And Vaseline simply makes your lashes glossy, darker, and seem longer. It just eliminates having to go through mascara, chemical stuff getting into your eye, clumping, etc. =] haha
