Seeing as to how today (Sunday) is my birthday, issa has granted me limited access to post something of my own. Apparently while my friends have become quite stylish, issa, Roz, and Jeannie are pretty much ashamed for me to show up on their blog. Let's just say I put the "ew" in wEWearthings. Kind of like the ugly friend pretty girls keep around so they feel better about themselves but don't want to be seen with. I was just about to start a fashion blog called "mewearthings" until issa granted me permission on my birthday to post.
And hey, it's my birthday and since I'm not celebrating it (I blame the economy), I thought I'd throw in the guy's side of things. Keep in mind, up until high school, all my clothes were pretty much hand-me-downs from the BigBro, who is trendy, but by the time his clothes filtered down to me, it was probably out of style.
The Casual Look:
Shirt: Lolmart, Jeans: BDG, Shoes: Kenneth Cole
When I'm out and about, I'm generally a jeans and t-shirt kinda guy. Now, I generally like my shirts tight enough so that everyone can tell which way my nipples are pointing the rest of my body to go. This is particularly useful in survival situations because you know they always point north. T-shirts are generally always from threadless.com or from random internet memes. I don't know if you can read it, but that t-shirt is a LOLrus shirt from the LOLcats website. The LOLrus is saying "Has you seen mah bukkit?" and looks really cute. I mean, how can you NOT buy that? The kenneth coles were a birthday present to myself three or four years ago and they are my probably most frequently worn shoes. I also like blue things to go with brown things.
At the Office:
Everyone loves casual fridays. I think. This past Friday was finally cold enough in Houston for layering. issa got me the shirt/sweater combo and in my limited knowledge of fashion, I only wear those two together. The Zara blazer is a light blazer but the material is stiff, so it keeps its shape well. I used to wear a lot looser jeans until my friends informed me that jeans look better fitted. It's like a subtle version of "What Not to Wear". I tried skinny pants once but I could not pull them up past my knees. My thighs, they are like tree trunks.
Now, being a swingin' single bachelor, I enjoy the occasional night out on the town. I thought for today's outfit, I'd do a post of my birthday suit (No, not that one). I picked up that pair of BDGs on Wednesday which are actually smaller than I normally wear but I bought anyway because they were on sale for $19.99. Any girls do that? Like squeeze into a good bargain? I'm sure you do. Everyone likes a good bargain. But no one likes pants so tight they render men sterile. This is the double standard in the society we live in. Luckily, guys can wear loose shirts to cover up that muffin top. Mmmm man, have you ever had chocolate chip muffin tops? Those are pretty good.
I also bought the jacket from Forever XXI for my birthday. It's a bit heavy, so it only works in cold weather to avoid becoming a sweaty mess (In Houston, we have like 2 weeks of cold weather a year if we're lucky). It's got a neat copper coloring to it that you can't see in the photo. I also love 7 Diamonds for going out attire- they fit very well. The BigBro got that for me for my birthday this year.
Taking advice from Ludacris in Usher's classic song ("I won't stop till I get 'em in they birthday suits."), I think that about wraps it up for me. Now that I have thoroughly offended probably 90% of the WWT readership, I will go back to being behind the lens and leave these ladies to their expertise.
